Ed, our beloved friend and colleague,

Give us the strength and grace,
to mourn your loss and draw resolve from your spirit
to draw inspiration from your professionalism and excellence
to get past our collective grief, in the wake of these senseless events.
Our thoughts are with your family, your children,
we wish for them to know how special you are to us.

Give us the strength and grace,
to cherish our family, friends and colleagues
to smile upon each of them, as you did so magnificently
to contemplate the brevity of life and the relative meaning of it all.
You have inspired us, as a team as well as individually, to a higher level.
For that we are deeply grateful.

Give us the strength and grace,
to do as you yourself would urge, to press on with our work
to spoil these horrific, ugly acts of terrorism, by doubling our efforts
to make these efforts, our product and our conduct, worthy of your memory.
As the ocean echoes within the shell, the beauty and strength of your
influence will forever echo within the fruits of our work.

No man is an island entire unto itself, every man is part of the main... Any
man's death diminishes me because I am involved in mankind, send not to know
for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee  -  (John Donne, 17th century - England)
